How this site uses cookies

This notice explains the cookies Unbelievablechronicles places on your device when you visit this site from Singapore or elsewhere. It covers what each cookie does, how long it stays, and how you change your mind. It sits alongside our privacy notice. We keep the list short because we do not run advertising networks on these pages.

What this notice covers

This page is for anyone who lands on Unbelievablechronicles.com. It describes first-party cookies set by us from Singapore. Other sites may set their own files if you follow a link away from here. If you read in the web reader, listen in a browser, or send the contact form, the same rules apply on our host.

Scope

Pages, reader and form

Cookies named in this notice may appear on the public pages, in the sample chapter, and on the membership and contact screens. Printed issues posted to Singapore addresses do not carry cookies. Audio files themselves do not embed trackers; only the page that plays them can set a file, and only if you allowed that group.

Origin

First-party files only

We set cookies from unbelievablechronicles.com. We do not drop files for social pixels, retargeting, or brokerage. If a future tool is added, this notice will name it before it runs. Until then you can treat every cookie on this host as ours, stored for the times listed below, and readable by our servers in Singapore.

Lawful use

Choice sits with you

Strictly necessary cookies run so the site can keep a session and remember that you have already answered the bar. Preference and analytics cookies wait for a clear yes. A refusal is as valid as an acceptance. You can reverse either later without losing a paid membership or the stories already in your account.

Cookies we set

Three groups cover the whole site. Necessary cookies keep the visit stable. Preference cookies store small reading settings if you allow them. Analytics cookies, if you allow them, count page opens in aggregate so we can see whether a chapter is hard to find. None of them build an advertising profile.

Necessary

Session and your answer

These files let pages load in order, keep a form from losing its place, and remember whether you have already closed the cookie bar. Without them the public text still appears, yet your choice would be asked again on every visit. We do not use this group to rank you, and we do not sell the values they hold.

Lifetime: session to 1 year

Preference

Place in a chapter

If you allow preference cookies, we store small settings such as the last sample chapter you opened. They make a return visit less repetitive. They stay until they expire or you clear this site in your browser. You can refuse them and still read every public page, hear the sample, and send a message to the desk.

Lifetime: up to 90 days

Analytics

Which pages were opened

Optional analytics cookies, when you agree, record which public pages were opened, in aggregate. We use that to see whether a chapter page is buried. We do not pass these hits to advertising networks. If you refuse, we simply do not set them. Membership billing, postage and cancellation keep working either way.

Lifetime: up to 6 months

Names, purpose and time

The table lists every first-party cookie we expect to set in 2026. Names may gain a short suffix when we rotate a key, but the purpose stays the same. Scroll sideways on a narrow screen. If you find a file from this host that is missing here, write to us and we will add it within one working day.

Name Group Purpose Expires
uc_cookie_choice Necessary Stores whether you accepted or refused optional cookies 1 year
uc_session Necessary Keeps a visit stable while you move between pages Session
uc_form_token Necessary Protects the contact form from forged submissions Session
uc_reader_pos Preference Remembers where you stopped in a sample chapter 90 days
uc_audio_rate Preference Stores a playback speed you chose between 0.8× and 2× 90 days
uc_analytics Analytics Counts page opens in aggregate on this host only 6 months

We do not set cookies from payment partners on the public pages. If you open a membership, the processor may set its own files on its domain under its notice. Postage for print, including the S$6 monthly add-on outside Singapore, is handled on our billing screens and does not require extra marketing cookies.

Your cookie choices

You can accept or refuse optional cookies on the bar that appears on your first visit. You can change that later by clearing cookies for this host and reloading, which brings the bar back. Most browsers also let you block cookies from this site alone. If you block every cookie, the necessary ones cannot be stored and the bar may return each time.

Printed issues and posted gifts do not use cookies at all. Audio in our reader may remember a timestamp locally if you allowed preference cookies; otherwise you start at the beginning. The Friday email does not plant cookies until you open a link back to this site. Questions about a specific file on your device can go to hello@UnbelievableChronicles.com and we will answer within one working day.

Clearing cookies does not cancel a membership. Billing continues until you cancel in your account or by writing to us. Archive access on a paid plan stays until the end of the period you have already paid. For cancellation steps see the billing questions, and for how we handle personal data see the privacy notice.

Questions we hear first

These answers cover advertising files, deletion, sharing, and whether a print membership changes anything on your device. If your case sits outside this list, send the desk a short note with the browser you use. We reply Monday to Friday 09:30–18:00 SGT, and on Saturday 10:00–14:00, within one working day by email.

Do you use advertising cookies?

No. Unbelievablechronicles does not set advertising, retargeting, or social-pixel cookies on this site. We do not sell lists of readers. Optional analytics, when you agree, stay on this host and count page opens in aggregate. A refusal leaves membership, the Vault, the sample chapter and the contact form working as they do today.

How do I delete cookies you set?

Use your browser controls to remove cookies for unbelievablechronicles.com, or clear all cookies if you prefer. Reload the site and the bar will ask again. Deleting files does not close your membership or wipe stories you already paid to read. If a leftover file worries you, email hello@UnbelievableChronicles.com with the name you saw.

Do you share cookie data with other firms?

We do not share cookie values with advertisers. Hosting runs on servers in Singapore by a third-party provider who may see technical logs as part of keeping the site up. Payment, if you join, is handled on the processor’s own domain under its notice. We do not pass analytics hits to media networks.

Does a print membership use cookies?

The stitched monthly issue posted to Singapore, and copies sent abroad with the postage add-on, are paper. They hold no cookies. Managing the membership in a browser still uses the necessary files on this site, and optional files only if you allowed them. Gift passes arranged through the desk follow the same rule.

Need this from the desk?

Write to Unbelievablechronicles at 56 Kandahar Street if a cookie on your device is unclear. We will name the file and its purpose. Replies go out within one working day.
