New work lands on a fixed rhythm so you can plan the week around it. The reader updates first, print follows for Singapore addresses, and a short Friday note tells you what is coming so you never open the app guessing. Dates below are the standing timetable for 2026.
Every Tuesday
Every Tuesday a fresh chapter appears in your reader, ready on the train or at the kitchen table. You can start on the phone and finish on a laptop; the place is saved. Audio follows the same release, so you can listen if your hands are busy. Chapters run long enough to feel like a sitting, short enough to finish before the next one arrives.
The first of the month
On the first of the month we post the printed issue to Singapore addresses included in Full Chronicle and Collector. The issue is sewn and packed in a plain envelope you can leave on a desk. International postage is an add-on of S$6 a month, billed with your membership. A packing slip lists the stories and the expected delivery window for your building.
Every Friday
Every Friday you receive a one-page email that names the next chapter, flags whether it is Fiction or From the record, and gives a reading time. It is the only marketing note we send. If you would rather hear nothing until you open the reader, you can switch the letter off in your account without touching the rest of the membership.
The February 2026 season holds nine pieces across two strands. Fiction is invented work. From the record is built from public archives and documents. Every card on this site carries one of those tags so you know what you are opening before the first line.
Fiction
When the tide tables for Keppel ran a day ahead of the clocks on shore, a clerk kept a private list of ships that should not have been there. This chapter follows the list through one humid week in 1974, and the argument it caused in a canteen that faced the cranes.
From the record
Built from surviving programme logs of a late radio hour that invited strangers to speak and never aired surnames. The tapes are incomplete. What remains is the order of calls, the engineer’s notes, and the night the board went quiet for eleven minutes.
Fiction
A relief keeper arrives at a rock light to find the log finished in a hand he does not recognise, mid-sentence, with the lamp still trimmed. The story stays on the rock for three nights and refuses the rescue that the shipping news later claimed.
Every piece begins as a commission, passes a record check, and is cut to a sitting you can finish. Original text only: we do not licence reprints. Archive work is tagged From the record. Invented work is tagged Fiction. You see the mark on the card, in the reader, and in the audio slate.
First
Editors pick subjects that can hold 18 to 33 minutes of attention: a harbour fire, a radio station that never named its callers, a lighthouse keepers’ log that stops mid-sentence. Writers are hired for a single piece. We pay for the research days up front so the draft can afford the time it needs, including days spent in reading rooms and on recorded calls.
Then
Anything drawn from archives, court papers, shipping lists or broadcast tapes is read against the public record. Dates, spellings and quoted speech are marked in the file. If a scene is invented to bridge two documented hours, the whole piece is tagged Fiction. If the spine is documentary, it carries From the record on the card and in the audio slate.
Before it ships
Target length is 18 to 33 minutes in the reader, which keeps a commute or a lunch sitting complete. Lines that repeat a fact already earned are removed. Audio is voiced after the cut so the recording matches the page. You will see the tag before you press play or turn the first leaf of the printed issue.

Audio is voiced by working readers in a quiet room in Singapore. You can set speed from 0.8× to 2× and download an issue for the underground stretch where the signal drops. The files stay on the device until you delete them. Chapter marks match the print edition, so a household can share a sitting without losing the place in either format.
The printed issue is sewn and packed in an envelope, with Singapore postage included on Full Chronicle and Collector. The reader remembers the line you stopped on and works with the radio off. You can keep last month’s issue in a bag and still open this week’s chapter on the phone. Three formats, one set of stories, billed as a single membership you can cancel when you choose.

Yes. Open your account and cancel in a few taps, or write to hello@UnbelievableChronicles.com. You keep the reader, audio and archive until the end of the period you have already paid. Printed issues already in the post still arrive; we do not bill the next cycle once the cancellation is logged.
On Reader you keep ninety days. On Full Chronicle and Collector you keep the full Vault for as long as the membership is active, including seasons published before you joined. When a membership ends, download windows close at the period end. We do not sell perpetual offline files as a separate product.
Yes. Singapore postage is included on Full Chronicle and Collector. Addresses outside Singapore add S$6 a month, charged with the membership. Transit times vary by country; we print the expected window on the packing slip. If a copy is lost in the post, write to us and we will send a replacement from the next print run.
Yes. Write to us with the recipient’s name and a start month. Collector plans include two gift passes a year. For classrooms and teams of five seats or more, we set a single invoice and a shared start date. Gifts follow the same cancellation rules as a plan you buy for yourself.
